Members of the design team from PLACE Alliance will begin conducting a landscape survey in the study area on Tuesday, December 18 and Wednesday, December 19, 2018. All field work will be conducted from public property. The team will take photos and measurements and collect data to assess various components and supplement the aerial topography survey.

Aerial Topography Survey of Stockade Study Area -
November 26, 2018 - December 7, 2018

Members of the design team will be performing an aerial topographic survey of the study area beginning the week of November 26, 2018 through December 7, 2018. The team will survey the exterior of buildings, roadways, and vegetation for use in preparing mitigation options in the coming months. The data gathered will help the team understand what's happening in the study area and guide us in identifying the best flood mitigation solution. The team will also contact property owners and distribute a brief survey to all residents in the area to collect more information about your experience.

Read more in the Public Notice about the aerial survey.

Community Meeting - October 23, 2018

City of Schenectady staff and project team members conducted a community meeting on October 23, 2018 to introduce the Stockade Flood Mitigation Project, gather initial feedback, and answer questions. We look forward to continuing working with the neighborhood as community input is a vital component of this major project.

Conducting a comprehensive community engagement process and evaluating all identified potential mitigation alternatives will allow us to implement the best practicable solution for the Stockade Historic District.
